Springfield Shooting Incident Leaves One Dead, Two Injured in Early Morning Disturbance

On October 13, 2024, at approximately 2:12 a.m., Springfield police officers responded to a shooting incident at the Heer’s Parking Garage located at 230 N. Campbell Ave. Multiple people were reported to have been shot during a disturbance in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near the intersection of McDaniel Street and Campbell Avenue. A third man, also with gunshot wounds, was located at the intersection of Olive Street and Campbell Avenue.

All three victims were rushed to local hospitals. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as Klayton Hagan, 18, from Springfield, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His family has been notified.

The Springfield Police Department Homicide Detectives have successfully identified and located all individuals involved in the incident. However, no arrests have been made at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Once the investigation is completed, the case will be forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review, where a decision will be made regarding the filing of criminal charges.
