Liam Payne Obituary & Death: Former One Direction member Liam Payne has tragically passed away at the age of 31 following a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Local authorities confirmed that Payne fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel, situated in the upscale Palermo neighborhood, sustaining fatal injuries. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to a statement from Buenos Aires police, they responded to an emergency call about a disturbance involving a man displaying aggressive behavior, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Pablo Policicchio, spokesperson for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, reported that officers arrived at the hotel and soon heard a loud thud, leading them to discover Payne’s body in the hotel courtyard.
The hotel manager, in a 911 call released to the media, expressed concerns over Payne’s erratic behavior, describing him as “overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol” and causing significant damage to his hotel room. The manager highlighted the presence of a balcony, which added urgency to the situation.
Alberto Crescenti, head of Buenos Aires’ emergency medical service, confirmed that an autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death. Authorities have yet to determine whether the fall was accidental or intentional, and representatives for Payne have not responded to requests for comment.
