Tragic Collision in Northwest Valley Claims Life of Motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic accident involving an SUV on Monday night in the northwest valley. The collision occurred on North Rancho Drive, just north of North Torrey Pines Drive, around 7:02 PM, as reported by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
Details of the Incident
Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2020 Lincoln Corsair was traveling south on Rancho Drive at a high speed, while a 2013 KTM 1190 RC8 motorcycle was headed north, also at high speed. Just before reaching the intersection, the Lincoln turned left into a private drive, at which point the motorcyclist collided with the rear-right side of the SUV.
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle, and he was rushed to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the rider, identified as 32-year-old Felix Estevez from Las Vegas, Nevada, succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Aftermath and Investigation
Both the driver and passenger of the Lincoln reported injuries and were taken to University Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have stated that there is currently no indication that the Lincoln’s driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on the roads and the need for heightened awareness among drivers and motorcyclists alike.
