Lubbock Police Identify Victim in Fatal Crash
Leland Taylor, 38, has been identified by the Lubbock Police Department as the victim of a tragic crash that occurred early on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024.
Details of the Collision
The incident took place at approximately 2:11 a.m. when police were alerted to a collision between a car and a pickup truck while investigating reports of a careless driver. According to the LPD, Ricardo Ferreyra, 42, was driving west in the eastbound lanes on the 3600 block of South Loop 289 when the vehicles collided. Leland Taylor was traveling in the correct lanes at the time of the crash.
Unfortunately, Taylor was declared dead at the scene. Additionally, Kirstin Gallemore, a 29-year-old passenger in the truck, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to University Medical Center for treatment.
Ricardo Ferreyra also suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to Covenant Medical Center for medical care.
