RIP Keiwon Tucker: Fatal Crash Involving Ram TRX Truck in Atlanta
On May 10th, 2024, a tragic incident occurred involving a red Dodge Ram TRX pickup truck on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Atlanta, Georgia. The driver, Keiwon Tucker, passed away following a high-speed chase with Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officers.
The chase began when officers noticed the Ram TRX truck with a window tint violation while it was parked at a gas station. The front windshield had been darkened with a heavy film, prompting the officer to follow the truck after it exited the Chevron fueling station at 3260 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and headed south on Bolton Road.
As the Ram TRX truck accelerated, reaching dangerous speeds, the officer reported the pursuit to Troop C Communications. The chase continued through a residential area with winding roads, and traffic conditions caused the officer to slow down. Eventually, the red Dodge pickup was involved in a serious crash, which left it inoperable.
Upon approaching the crash site, officers found the truck severely damaged, with Keiwon Tucker still restrained by his seatbelt, but unresponsive. Tragically, blood was seen gushing from his head and ear, and his seat had been partially torn from the cab. Despite the efforts of bystanders attempting to access the scene, officers maintained control until emergency services arrived.
A backpack found in the vehicle contained a Kel Tec pistol, two small bags of suspected crack cocaine, and other personal items. Tucker, who was identified through his wallet, had an active warrant for his arrest in Douglas County for shoplifting.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene and took possession of Tucker’s body for further investigation. The wrecked Ram TRX was recovered by S&W. This fatal incident remains a sobering reminder of the dangers of high-speed chases and reckless driving.
Tucker’s tragic death has shocked the community, and details of the crash investigation will continue to unfold.
